Boston Herald - Lack of Hart is lucky for Lynch

U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch may have already gotten some help from Southie neighbor and former state Sen. Jack Hart in his bid to win the showdown with U.S. Rep. Edward Markey in the U.S. Senate Democratic primary.

Hart’s surprise resignation last month to join the law firm Nelson Mullins triggered a special election. So far state Reps. Nick Collins (D-South Boston) and Linda Dorcena Forry (D-Dorchester) are running for Hart’s old seat.

The primary in the Southie vs. Dot showdown is slated for April 30 — the same day voters will decide between Lynch and Markey.

That may entice more voters in Lynch’s base to flock to the polls, said one analyst.
